Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, says though the journey may be rough and tempestuous Nigeria will get to the harbour safely because it has a seasoned captain in President Muhammadu Buhari.
Adesina, who appeared as a guest on TV show Seriously Speaking said President Buhari knows where he is going.
“ If you have your doubts about the captain of your ship and you run into a storm, you begin to panic. But if you know that this captain is tested, he is seasoned, and he will not abandon the ship, then you will stay with him. I will like to tell Nigerians that the captain of our ship, the president is somebody who knows where he is going. He knows where he is steering the ship to. It may be tempestuous for now but we will get to a safe harbour,” he said.
When asked if the president was too old to lead the country at 73, Adesina said, “At 73, you are not exactly a young man but Tunisia elected an 88 year old man last year. He is leading the country. As long as a man is sound mentally, physically, sound spiritually, he can be president. Our constitution did not prescribe an upper limit as to who can be president”.
