Buhari given 2-week deadline to end fuel scarcity

Minister of Petroleum Resources, President Muhammadu Buhari, has been given a 2-week deadline to end the prevalent fuel scarcity in the country.

On Thursday, the Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), gave the directive at the National Assembly.

Chairman of the committee, Senator Uche Ekwenife, announced the deadline during the committee’s meeting with top officials of Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

Ekwenife said the Petroleum Minister, President Buhari, must end the scarcity and ensure that fuel was sold at N87.00 per litre.

”We are mandating the Minister of Petroleum Resources, the Permanent Secretary and heads of agencies to stop this fuel scarcity in two weeks.

“We are giving a target now, we don’t wan’t to know how you would achieve it. Nigerians want to see an end to this fuel scarcity.”
