President Muhammadu Buhari has just re-nominated Sylvanus Adiewere Nsofor, the 82-year-old ambassadorial nominee from Imo State. Nsofor had already been rejected by the Senate based on a damning report from the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
The Chairman of the Committee, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu reported that the nominee was frail and tired and his responses to the questions posed were either not answered or deflected into cynicisms. Mr Nsofor already had a long career as a Justice.
Considering the pending situation with Ibrahim Magu, who has been rejected twice by the Senate based on dubious claims of the DSS dishing out the dirt on him, it appears President Buhari is interested in doing a long dance with the Senate on nominations.
