#RioOlympics: D’Tigers lose to Brazil’s B’ball team, 86 – 69

Nigeria has crashed out of the basketball event of the Rio Olympics losing to hosts Brazil 86 – 69.

D’Tigers’ undoing was the second quarter where the Brazilians outscored them by 12 points.

D’Tigers started with the same lineup that beat Croatia: Chamberlain Oguchi, Michael Umeh, Ebi Ere, Ike Diogu, and Alade Aminu.

D’Tigers won the first quarter 16-15 but the Brazilians outplayed the Nigerians in the second quarter.

Nigeria was totally out of sorts as the Brazilians made 27 points as against 15 by D’Tigers, as the host ended the first half leading by 42-31.

D’Tigers came into the third quarter determined to cut shot the lead – and that they did – as they made 21 points as against Brazil’s 17, ending the quarter 52-59.

Brazil took control of the fourth quarter scoring 27 points as Nigeria could only manage 17.
