Modupe Ajayi, a laboratory technician, revealed to an Igando Customary Court, Lagos State, that her husband is a serial cheater who once slept with her best friend and regularly copulates with their house helps.
The husband, 50-year-old Ajayi had earlier petitioned the court to dissolve their 12-year-old union on the grounds of lack of respect from his wife and a constant threat to his life.
The 40-year-old wife and mother of Ajayi’s three children, while responding to the petition in court shared tales of her husband’s aleged escapades.
She said, “My husband is shameless. He slept with my best friend. He’s a womaniser, I caught him making love to my best friend in her house. I stopped employing house helps because he has turned them into sex machine.”
“I always had sexual infection some days after he made love to me. I stopped making love to him and I’ve stopped washing his clothes when I discovered that I always see and smell sperm on his boxers.”
She also disclosed that ,erely three days after their wedding, her husband left home to go and stay with another woman.
“He lied to me that he wanted to travel to his village to see his father. I called his father when he did not show up for days, and he told me he did not see my husband. I later found the telephone number of this lady in his handset. I then called her to leave my husband alone.”
“After the call, my husband rushed home, dragged me out of the bathroom naked and beat me for calling his girlfriend. It was my brother-in-law that ran out to cover my nakedness.”
Sharing her husband’s sentiments, Modupe urged the court to grant her his petition, saying that she was no longer interested in the marriage.
Meanwhile, in the petition previously submitted to the court by the husband, he claimed that his wife was in the habit of threatening his life with dangerous weapons.
“Whenever we are fighting she would stab me with a knife or any other sharp object. Modupe is a pompous, disrespectful and arrogant woman. She is so full of herself and does not have respect for me despite all I have done for her. I bought her four cars within our 12 years of marriage, yet she does not have regard for me.”
“She does things without telling me. She even travelled out of the country without my consent. Modupe has made life miserable for me; she’s fond of fighting me and raining curses on me.”
The petitioner also accused his wife of living an extravagant life, saying, she spends a lot of money on jewelry.
“I can’t put up with her lifestyle any more. We now live like enemies in the house. We’ve stopped talking to each other since June last year,” he said.
The court president, Mr R.I Adeyeri, adjourned the case till 27 August.
