Tears flowed freely this afternoon as the remains of the former Kaduna State Governor, Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa arrived Kaduna Airport.
Yakowa died at the weekend when a Navy helicopter carrying him and five others, crashed at Nembe, Bayelsa State.
The corpse, wrapped with the national flag of green white green, arrived Kaduna Airport at exactly 2.40p.m. in a C-130 Air Force plane with registration number CAG
Yakowa’s corpse arrived with the corpse of a top politician, Dauda Tsoho, who also died in the crash.
Among the notable dignitaries at the airport to receive the corpse were family members, the new governor of the state, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, National Assembly members, service chiefs, religious leaders, traditional rulers and politicians.
The special adviser to the late Yakowa on Media, Reuben Buhari, told P.M.NEWS that even in death his late boss represented the platform for peace, unity and development, which he always preached when he was the governor of the state. “Yakowa might have died, but his legacies and strong commitment to serving humanity will continue to linger on,” Buhari stated.
