[The Church Blog] A conversation on “Unmerited Favour” between Frank Edwards, Daddy Freeze and an Instagram follower

If you are very conversant with Nigerian churches – the Pentecostal ones especially, you would have noticed that they don’t joke with their testimonies. They testify about every single thing and sometimes praise God for some things he necessarily didn’t have a hand in.

We are not here to talk about testimonies in church though, we are here to talk about a testimony. One that has generated so much controversy across the internet.

So here’s how it happened. Testimony time! Victory time!

There’s this new song from Frank Edwards – undoubtedly one of Nigeria’s finest music ministers – titled Miracle Rain that everyone seems to have a deep connection with. One of his Instagram users dropped a supposed testimony of how God blessed him miraculously by a wrong payment from a company he no longer works for.

Then, another Instagram commentator came up to summon Frank Edwards to address the issue and advise the person involved.

Yes, he advised but it wasn’t the kind of advice we expected. Frank Edwards decided to take her through a course in the school of miracle money. Or isn’t that what it is called?

Fam got tired! She gave up respectfully without any form of trolling. Tell your neighbour; without any form of trolling.

As usual, OAP Freeze who has a penchant for commenting on christian matters also communicated his own opinion on the matter.

And did you notice the number of people also praying for the same miracle? Employers and office accountants had better up their game before we start experiencing miraculous transfer of money in the office.

Following some backlash, Edwards posted on his Instagram, saying

After Frank’s post, Freeze said,

This is a healthy conversation for the Body of Christ in Nigeria.
