The Film Blog: Isoken is hot like fire at the cinemas – for one simple reason

It’s funny.

This isn’t our greatest Nigerian movie of all time, but don’t take our word for it, because while we sat in the cinemas, everyone was laughing to death.

They were laughing because – It was funny.

It was smart.

It was beautiful to look at.

It had Funke Akindele.

It understands comedic timing.

Jade Osiberu knows the work (even though to be honest, because we know she is brilliant, we did expect much better).

Dakore Akande knows the work.

There are beautiful boys and girls, looking beautiful up and down the place.

This film will be a hit, we thought to ourselves as we watched. Undoubtedly.

And from the queues we are seeing across social media, we were absolutely right.

You have to see it.
