We know ‘Gbenga Sesan has signalled he will be leaving the leadership of Paradigm Initiative Nigeria after 10 years, and this is the tenth year, so perhaps this is a move in that direction.
Anyway, the continental leader in digital rights and inclusion, as far as we know, has added two accomplished women to its board of advisors – Drs Jummai Zainab Umar-Ajijola and Aida Opoku-Mensah.
Umar-Ajijola – who we always thought was already on the board – led on corporate social responsibility for Microsoft Nigeria years ago and is now chief executive of The Business People (tbp) Limited and sits on the board of ActionAid, and Opoku-Mensah works with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as Special Advisor to the ECA Executive Secretary on Special Initiatives & SDGs/Agenda 2030.
They are the only additions to the boats since we started paying attention a half-year ago, and join its board of five led by Professor Pat Utomi as chair and ‘Sesan as founder and executive director.
Godspeed.
