Karen Elaine Harrelson, 48, knifed Gregory Stambaugh on May 15 when they couldn’t agree on which “American Idol” singer deserved to emerge victorious.

A Pennsylvania couple stabbed each after arguing over who should win “American Idol,” police said.

Karen Elaine Harrelson, 48, and Gregory Stambaugh, 57, knifed one another May 15 when they couldn’t agree on which singer deserved to emerge victorious.

The pair had been drinking heavily all day.

And the debate over whether eventual winner Candice Glover or runner-up Kree Harrison should triumph in the 12th season saw things turn violent.

Accounts as to what exactly happened vary, reports WHP-TV.

Harrelson said Stambaugh followed her as she went upstairs to cut a piece of cake.

Gregory Stambaugh, 57, was stabbed by Harrelson. York County police said they arrived at the West Manchester Township home to find the couple on the front porch with blood all over their clothing.

She claims he grabbed a second knife, slashed her wrist, hit her over the head and threw her down on the floor.

He sustained his injuries, she added, in self-defense.

But Stambaugh said he had remained in the basement, where they were watching the popular show, and she returned with a knife and stabbed him in the arm.

He chased her back into the kitchen and accidentally stabbed her as he tried to wrestle the knife away.

York County police officers said they arrived at the West Manchester Township home to find the couple on the front porch with blood all over their clothing.

The pair was treated for their injuries and sent to York County Prison, where they were charged with one count of felony aggravated assault and two counts of simple assault.

Stambaugh’s bail was set at $70,000. Harrelson’s was set at $30,000, reports the York Dispatch.
