Several passengers lost their lives this morning as a Sokoto bound 18-seater bus with registration number, BUD 291 XA, collided with a trailer.
The bus which took off from Ilorin, Kwara State was said to have lost control resulting in a head-on collision with the trailer.
According to eyewitnesses, the tragic accident happened at Maiyama Village, Kebbi State after a heavy downpour of rain.
An eyewitness said all the passengers in the bus lost their lives before any help could reach them.
“Majority of the victims had their skulls broken with human brains littering the road sides. It was a horrible thing,” he said.
Muhammad Kudu Idris, the Head of Operations, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Kebbi State Command, advised Nigerians to try as much as possible to avoid night journeys, just as he advised vehicle drivers, especially commercial vehicle drivers to avoid journeys whenever there is a heavy down pour.
