A former head of state, Yakubu Gowon has said the current composition of Nigeria makes it difficult for restructuring to take place – considering “Nigeria is made up of over 500 ethnic groups, languages and dialects“.
Speaking in Minna, Niger on Friday, the retired general advised the people to have faith in the indivisibility of the country.
Gowon is known for his belief in ‘One Nigeria’.
Why it matters: The calls for restructuring has become quite intense in the past months and the Federal government is being chided for refusing to listen to the requests or the calls for the adoption of the 2014 Confab report.
