A seven year-old boy was brutally stoned to death on Saturday by a 21 year-old man and a 15 year-old girl after the boy spilled soy milk on their clothes, Huashangbao newspaper reported.
Following the incident, the pair took revenge on the boy. Tricking him into following them to a wooded area, the man and teenager covered the boy’s head with clothes before stoning him. The assault was so forceful as to prove fatal.
The police were alerted to the boy’s disappearance by his parents, leading to a manhunt and the discovery of the boy’s body. CRI reports that the youngster’s head was brutally mutilated.
The girl was caught by police at 7pm thanks to clues from eyewitnesses who saw the two leading the boy away.
The girl confessed to the killing, while the 21-year-old man, who escaped to a town 20 kilometres away, was apprehended on Sunday morning. The two are under criminal detention and the investigation is ongoing.
