A former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, had resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and it would not have been surprising if he were given an automatic ticket to run for Presidency in 2019.

But, the party – PDP, where everyone thinks he would be defecting to – said he would not get an automatic ticket.

But Atiku visited Yola and, met with a mammoth crowd, identified as members of the PDP.

Reacting, President Buhari joked about Atiku’s exit, asking the APC’s leader, John Odigie-Oyegun to accept his sympathy.

When asked, the governor of Zamfara, Jubrilla Bindow said he has no plan to follow in the footsteps of Atiku.

Meanwhile, Orji Uzor Kalu has also said the President Muhammadu Buhari is not interested an automatic ticket from the APC if he eventually seeks re-election in 2019.


In the continued campaign for the PDP chairmanship, Raymond Dokpesi, the CEO of DAAR Communications has said he is the best candidate for the position.

He also said he understands that his generation has failed Nigerians but, they have identified their mistakes and now want to correct those mistakes.

Then campaigning for Prof Tunde Adeniran for PDP Chair, Jerry Gana said the PDP made mistakes in its 16-year rule, however, the party has learnt its lessons.


The house of the former leader of the insurgent group, Boko Haram, Mohammed Yusuf, is to be converted into a museum, says the Borno State Government.


The governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose, in his ‘stomach infrastructure’ policy has promised that about 10,000 children resident in the state would get Christmas dresses from the government.

Others who are to benefit from the supposed ‘bumper package’ are tailors who will be going home with the sewing machines that will be used to sew the dresses.

In the event of his birthday too, Fayose received accolades from former President Goodluck Jonathan, who called him a ‘trailblazer’.

The Federal Government has now reacted to the slave auctions in Libya, promising to ensure the return of stranded Nigerians in the North African country.

In the light of that, 242 Nigerians and another set of 153 Nigerians were brought back within the time frame of one week.

Lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana was accused of acquiring an Abuja property via the EFCC – a property that was supposed to remain seized.

In reaction, Falana attacked AGF Malami, saying he never bought a house from the EFCC – where the anti-graft agency also said it did not receive any house from the former pensions boss, Abdulrasheed Maina.

In that same light, the governor of Ekiti, Ayodele Fayose attacked Falana, saying ‘no wonder he has kept on defending the EFCC, even when some of their actions are illegal’ – Of course, Falana replied.
