#YNaijaBBNUpdates: At long last, Seyi tenders an apology on Day 6

“Be careful with the words you say, they can be forgiven, but they would never be forgotten.”

Perhaps someone should have taught ex-Big Brother Naija housemate the above statement, so he employs tact with the use of words when he is livid, regardless of how infuriating the situation may be.

You know it’s going to be a good episode when one of the housemates denies ever gossiping, but a clip is played afterwards showing the said housemate initiate a conversation with another housemate with ‘lets gossip,’ not once but on two separate occasions. In case you are wondering, Jackey who denied ever gossiping was shown clips of her engrossed in several gossip sessions. She finally had to admit that she gossips.

The Big Brother Naija Pepper Dem Reunion show, continued in full swing last night and it saw a few of last season’s housemates have a sit down with the host of the show, Ebuka. Present for Day 6 were: Thelma, Mercy, Tacha, Omoshola, Frood, Seyi, Ike, and Diane.

Among the topics discussed, gossip was the focus. Ebuka themed gossip as the conversation, and some interesting things were said. Tacha began by defining gossip as talking about something that is uncertain, at which point Ebuka did what he does best; setting the record straight. He corrected Tacha, as he stated that gossip is in fact when you talk about someone behind them, and basic knowledge would have us agree with him. Regardless, Tacha stood her ground, and tried to contextualize her earlier statement throughout the duration of the show.

When a clip of Ike gossiping with Tacha was played, Mercy stated that she at times feel disrespected by the conversations her social media rival, Tacha hold with her boo. Ike in response told her to stop making meanings out of it because in reality, such conversations have nothing to do with her. Tacha on the other hand, chose to ignore.

“No Comment,” she told Ebuka who asked her to speak on the issue. What made our night however, was the housemates revisit of the most sensitive issues that occurred in the house, one of which was the Seyi and Thelma fall out.

On the night in question, Seyi in a feat of rage, and an attempt to hurt Thelma’s feelings, brought up Thelma’s dead brother and stated that her prosperity had gone with him. This comment was excessively insensitive and it was time they had a dialogue.

Thelma expressed how she felt that day hearing such from him, and although she had forgiven him, she did so without a personal apology from him. She also explained how the comments not only affected her but her mom also, at which point she broke down in tears. Just one option was left for Seyi, he had to personally and publicly apologise. Thank Goodness, he did!

The night ended with smiles and hugs, as both parties decided to let bygones be bygones.
