Ebuka Obi-Uchendu: Arguably Nigeria’s most talked-about TV host, Ebuka has procured an A list celebrity status owing to the number of primetime shows he anchors. It would also seem that he puts a huge emphasis on excellence when it comes to managing his brand. As well as being a particularly articulate and skillful presenter, Ebuka is also one of Nigeria’s most stylish media personalities, donning some of the most stylish and colourful blazers and native attires seen on television. The shows he currently anchors include the highly acclaimed Big Brother Naija, Rubbin’ Minds, and Judging Matters.

Ikponmwosa Osakioduwa: There are very few television hosts who can boast of the notoriety this presenter has. He is one of the most composed, most articulate and most accomplished TV presenters in Africa and his portfolio speaks for itself. Gaining popularity from hosting the Big Brother Africa reality TV show before handing the torch over to Ebuka, IK has, since the start of his career, been able to reiterate to Nigerians via his craft, why he is the best at what he does. Since retiring as host of BBA, IK has gone ahead to host other notable shows, including more recently Nigerian Idol, and Comedy Nite on Africa Magic. In 2019, he was nominated for the Nickelodeon’s Kids Choice Awards for Favourite African Star.

Ayo Mairo-Ese: Ayo Mairo-Ese is a compere, public speaker and on-air personality, who places a huge emphasis on elegance and faith with her brand. This multi-award winning broadcast journalist kick-started her career in 2014 as a co-host on the popular talk show; The Blog on Cool TV, since then, she has been on a fast track to becoming one of the most prolific media personalities in the country as is evident with her interview sessions with big names like Don Moen, CNN’s Richard Quest, Hollywood Actor, Eric Roberts, and more. Ayo hosts some of Radio’s finest shows including Primetime Breakfast Show on 99.3, and more recently, Smooth Breakfast on Smooth 98.1FM. Chuey Chu: There was a time in the not so distant social media past when vox pops were all the rave. Media houses and influencers took to the streets to get an insight on just how knowledgeable the average Nigerian pedestrian is, and judging by the reception from fans, vox pops became a huge hit. Deep within the crux of this trend was Chuey Chu and his ‘Chop Knuckle’ catchphrase. His face at the time became synonymous with viral videos of Nigerians saying the most ridiculous things on the internet. Folu Storms: It’s hard to imagine that this multi-award-winning presenter started off as a lawyer, but with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Aberystwyth University and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Bristol, it’s easy to see why she exudes such brilliant eloquence in the work she does. Judging from her seamless transition from law to entertainment, it’s not difficult to fathom just how multi-talented this presenter is. She is a voice-over artist, an actress who has featured in projects like The Men’s Club and MTV Shuga, and a TV and radio presenter. She is currently the host of BET Breaks Naija at BET Africa.

Bolanle Olukanni: Easily one of the most recognisable faces in the media sphere, owing to her stint on arguably the biggest talk show that has ever aired in the country; Moments with Mo, Bolanle Olukanni has gone ahead to carve a distinct niche for herself, one surrounded by philanthropy, social justice and blogging. She is currently the host of the Trophy Extra Special Band, a music talent show. She can also be found anchoring special segments on Rubbin’ Minds, and of course, she is the host of Ndani TV’s The Juice.

Stephanie Coker: Like a few other entrants on this list, Stephanie Coker is a renowned and well-accomplished media personality, with her brand profoundly attached to media powerhouses such as MTV, and Ebony Life TV and The Voice Nigeria, among other things. She is one of Nigerian TV’s most recognisable figures, with her work over the years validating her as one of the virtuosos of Nigerian media. She is a TV Host, Actor and Producer who runs her own production company called SCA Studios; a female-oriented media outfit. She also hosts her very own master class in Presenting called; TV Host Course, where she mentors a new generation of aspiring TV Presenters.
