PDP BoT chases Ali Modu Sheriff, Makarfi out of meeting

The rift in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continues unabated today as the sacked National chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff and chairman of the newly formed caretaker committee, Ahmed Makarfi were reportedly marched out of the the Board of Trustees of the party.

Sheriff was at the venue of the meeting at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja at about 11:10am today and was followed closely by Makarfi barely 5minutes.

Following the duo’s arrival, the chairman of the Board, Senator Jibril Wali requested that all pressmen evacuate the meeting as an important decision was about to be taken.

Not long after the announcement, Sheriff and Makarfi were spotted leaving the hall despite that the meeting continued.

Meanwhile, Makarfi today declared that he is still in charge of the PDP, in a statement..

Reacting to the recent ruling of a federal high court in Lagos, he said the public is being misled by aggrieved party members, and the media is misrepresenting Justice Ibrahim Buba.

“No orders of injunction or any order whatsoever is granted or exists against appointing caretaker committee for the PDP,” he said.

“Justice I. N. Buba did not make an order dissolving the caretaker committee. An order of court could only be made if the court is presented with either a motion ex-parte or motion on notice which the court hears and makes appropriate order(s) as deemed necessary. No court makes an order not sought.
