Pres. Jonathan to visit OBJ in Abeokuta today

by S’ola FilaniOBJGEJPresident Goodluck Jonathan will visit Abeokuta for the continuation of his presidential campaign today.

Jonathan would use the opportunity of his visit to Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital, for his campaign rally to pay the former president, Olusegun Obasanjo a visit.

The Punch Newspaper is reports that Jonathan will meet with former president Olusegun Obasanjo in the course of his visit.

The meeting will come less than 48hours after Obasanjo made a surprise appearance at the wedding service of Jonathan’s foster daughter, Inebharapu, at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.

Obasanjo and Jonathan have not been seen together in public events lately, especially since the public presentation of his book, My Watch, which is critical of the President and several others.

The former President had last Monday said Nigeria was facing economic problems due to the failure of the present administration to plan for a rainy day.

He told eminent women leaders from the South-West, who visited him at his Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State, that the nation’s reserves which as of 2007 stood at $67bn had been depleted by the Federal Government.
