The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, has given the Federal government the permission to probe the administration of Goodluck Jonathan.
The PDP however warned that the investigation must be conducted without malice and should not be designed to witch-hunt some persons who worked under Jonathan.
While speaking with Vanguard, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, warned that the investigation must be within the ambit of the law and respect for fundamental human rights of citizens.
Metuh pointed out that the government must plan for the future and not necessarily spending its energy looking into the past.
He said: “It is the right thing to probe and investigate but there must be respect for fundamental human rights of the people. It must be carried out within the confines of the law, there must be no witch-hunt.
“There must be plans for the future, the government can go ahead with the probe, but must put forward those things that will move the country forward because very soon, Nigerians will be asking questions on insecurity, incessant arrest, the state of the dollar, among others.”
Yes agreed, it is good to probe, But I want to let Mentuh and other well maining nigerians to understand that there is no how probing GEJ’s administration will not amount to witch hunt and injustice if the probe is not extended to other past administrations before GEJ,I wonder why Mentuh is making this type of statement which make him sound like an inner enemy of the party or like some one who doesn’t know what justice is all about,or don’t Mentuh know that what is good for the gooz is good for the ganda,Is Mentuh and his cohots trying to tell Nigerians that IBB,OBJ and Abacha regimes are angels without corruption,I want to seize this opportunity to tell Mentuh that his statement doesn’t stand for justice and doesn’t also justify his position as a leader,Nigerians are watching
