Some hunters in Maiha Local Government Area of Adamawa State, ambushed and killed about 80 members of the Boko Haram insurgents yesterday.
One of the hunters who spoke to ThisDay, said the capture of Mahia town on Monday by insurgents motivated them (the local hunters) in the town to mobilise other hunters in neighbouring communities to team up against the insurgents in order to recapture the town.
The hunters were said to have fought gallantly, killed 80 members of the insurgents and recovered Mahia Local Government , headquarters from the control of the insurgents.
The hunter said it was the military that prevented them from dislodging the insurgents because they are not constituted security forces and could not be trusted with such a mission.
“If the military can authorise us and provide back up, we will wipe out the insurgents because we know their hideouts and if it is juju (voodoo), we also have it and can use that to identify them.
“Boko Haram insurgents fear us because they know what we can do, let the military leave us with Boko Haram and see what is going to happen. We took advantage of the fact that the soldiers had fled the area and we used the opportunity to kill them and chased others out of Mahia”, one of the hunters said.
may God contineu 2 guide this hunters and all their people and may he give them more zeal, strenght and courage to diffend theirselve and the Government at large.
that’s a good hunters, al the military should sunrander thair wapon to those guyz if gov’t can aprove this, because this guyz have made great rewrd.

I think those gallant hunters should be recruited if they want to and replace the wuuse runaway soldiers. Those soldiers can join the Cameroun army.

My respect goes first to the fallen soldiers because ii also lost 2 of my friends, to the remaining military soldiers their, I pray that ALLAH gives you the strength to fight those infidels called Boko Haram while we all Muslims say “May the wrath of ALLAH fall upon you the infidels for making Islam a religion of mockery, even though ALLAH shall NEVER EVER allow you to go unpunished, inn Shaa ALLAHU”. The vigilante groups and d various hunters sacrificing for the sake of the poor and destitute, GOD ALMIGHTY shall shower you with much victory and no even injury inn Shaa ALLAH and HE will equally pay you for what you have given your life for others to live.

Sorry. for those that put in sentiment in whatever they do or say. what is northerners against northerners? Are the hunters fighting. for the survival and development of common man and Nigeria or are they fighting northerners? Please put your country first before sentiment.

Are there no wounded ones to be interviewed by reporters at least for information on how to end this rubbish? How many hunters returned unhurt? Which hospital is taking of the wounded?
Mr celem, d situation is graphically TOO bad, no phone or video freaking person can go close to song talk more of gombi and Hong before Mubi then maiha, NO network is working there, they switched them off, so these hunters and d vigilanty groups are HEROES to us in Yola were I reside because, I can testify 2 u that just this evening I saw 40 hilux trucks with the same hunters brought in from either gombe or somewhere and have straight moved toward Girei-Song-Gombi-Hong-Mubi-Maiha.
