It was a horrific experience in the early hours of Thursday on a busy Street in London after a bus ploughed into a shop, leaving several passengers injured.

Eye witnesses disclosed that commuters were pinned to their seats and trapped on the top deck of the bus causing a sight of “a lot of blood” as the driver was reported to inform the passengers he had lost consciousness.

Other eye witnesses said, “people were ‘screaming for help’ and thereafter, the double-decker bus crashed on the A3036 in Battersea”, a popular area in South West London.

Emergency services who treated at least 10 patients for multiple injuries said, the double-decker bus mounted the pavement and ploughed into a kitchen shop in Lavender Hill, destroying the front of the bus and the shop window.

“I noticed a lady wedged in the front right-hand side. She was screaming for help. There was a lot of blood.”

According to a London Fire Brigade spokesman, he said, “We were called at 7am to reports of a bus crashed into a shop front. The shop front has collapsed.

“Two female passengers are trapped on the top deck of the bus, crews are working to free them. The passengers are both conscious and breathing.”

While fire crews were also called to the scene, including a hazardous environment team, A London Ambualance spokesman confirmed six people had been injured.
