Every footballer dreams of playing the UEFA Champions League, while the not-so-lucky ones would gladly settle for Europa League.
This season is no different as the best players in Europe represent their teams to determine the best team in the continent.
As the European Champions league and Europa league continues, there are a few Nigerian players we would want to keep our eyes on.
1. John Obi Mikel/Chelsea FC
Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel is an experienced participant in the champions league with over 50 appearances in the competition. He would be looking to force his way into the Chelsea starting eleven and hope his side can claim a second champions league trophy by the end of May.
2. Ahmed Musa/CSKA Moscow
Arguably the most valuable player in his team, the winger would be hoping to successfully help his team qualify from a group comprising of Manchester United, Wolfsburg and PSV. United and Wolfsburg look favorite on paper but as the saying goes in football… you never know.
3. Kelechi Iheanacho/Manchester City
Still finding his way at Manchester City, after a few impressive cameos off the bench including the winning goal against Crystal Palace in the last minute of that game.
The youngster would however, not expect to see much action in the Champions League as City look to win a first tittle in their history.
4. Ogenyi Onazi/Lazio
Onazi, who has been in and out of his Lazio team all season long- is now looking tofight for a shirt and play more regularly for the Italian outfit. Ater being eliminated at the Champions League qualification stage, Lazio would be looking to do better in the Europe League this season.
5. Efe Ambrose/Celtic FC
The Celtic anchor man would be hoping his team can go all the way in the Europa league after also being eliminated at the qualification stage of the champions league.
