Praiz currently released two new singles I Love You and Jekalo, and he’s already setting our ears ablaze. YNaija caught up with Praiz for a brief chat on his music and the man behind it.

What inspired your new singles?

I Love You was inspired by the need for lovers to re-ignite their relationships, to bring back that spark  that was there when they first met!

Jekalo is a dance song for that special person you love and want to have that special dance and time with.

Do you think you have found your style?

Yes I do. I’ve been experimenting for a while, but I want to believe that I’ve been consistent with my vocal strength. I guess that’s what drew the attention of the label execs at X3M Music.

When are you dropping videos?

Very soon.

What defines you as an artiste?

I’ll say my ability to perform my songs. I enjoy performing with a band – playback performances are not my thing. People also tell me that my sound is very mature.

What are 5 things we don’t know about Praiz?

I am a producer.

I think I am quite popular amongst artistes based in the North. When they meet me, they are like “Hey, long time”.

I can play the drums pretty well. Folks are usually blown away when they see me kick it.

I  love belts, shoes and wrist watches… a lot!

I believe I am quite spontaneous, I  once jumped into a swimming pool to grab a large bottle of champagne…
