Governor Yari and Governor Ambode are determined to fight this thing to the finish, aren’t they? For whatever reason, Abubakar Yari, who typically, for better or for worse (mostly worse) stays under the radar and Akinwunmi Ambode, who, until recently, had managed to maintain a respectable level of performance in office – not always due to greatness of his own, but many a time a function of the general lack of noteworthiness of his colleagues – have decided to set new standards for poor leadership. What a time, really.
In the red corner we have the Zamfara Governor who not only refuses to accept that an outbreak of a viral (or bacterial) infection might not be punishment from God for fornication (or whatever he thinks it is today) but actively accosts other people for daring to point this out to him.
And then the blue corner – Governor of Lagos who would apparently be in jail for the actions against the Otodo-Gbame community, if not for the immunity automatically conferred upon him by virtue of his position.
The shared, sheer disregard for human life places both of these men in a tie for the worst governor in Nigeria currently.
