I remember this time last year, how apprehensive I was. 25 was knocking at the door. Unrealised goals stared at me coldly in the face.
I felt like a failure. It felt as if I was having a mid-life crisis at 25! I tried to have great expectations for 2015 but the baggage of who I wanted to be but had not yet become weighed me down.
What will 2015 hold for me? Will it be a year of coasting and floating through time, struggling and praying to fulfil my dreams? I held my breath as I crossed over to 25 and 2015.
365 days later and I can tell you with much confidence that I was worried for nothing. It’s true that I did not achieve more than half my goals for 2014. What I did not realise was that it was preparation for what God had in store for 2015.
This year has been amazing. Sometimes I look up and I ask God, “Why have you chosen to bless me this much” because this year, many undeserved blessings came my way. You know there are things that happen to you and you know you worked for them and there are those things you just know could only have happened by the sheer grace of God.
I took a step of faith in 2014 to start a business. It was quite a rough start. No clients. No money. I looked like I was loafing around and not running a business. Many times I wanted to throw in the towel and just submit my CV somewhere.
After all, the entrepreneur life is not by force. But God told me to hold on and I obeyed. 2015 started slowly. One client here and another one there. The money way ok; at least I could survive plus I had a part time job to help weather the storm.
And then out of nowhere, I started to have more clients; clients that I could never have had access to using my own effort. People started to look up to me as a mentor. Mighty doors began to open for me and I could not explain why.
That’s when I remembered the word God gave me. He said that my talent will make room for me and bring me before great men and women. All I just had to do was follow Him and indeed that is what happened to me this year.
God made room for me in places I least expected. He gave me strength when I thought I couldn’t go on and He gave me a reason to believe again.
I’m counting down to 26 and 2016 right now and I know without a doubt that it’s going to be an amazing year for me.
I know my path will shine brighter and I am ready to do more; to conquer more territories and have greater victories. Yes I’m excited because the best is yet to come for me.
