It started out as a depressing week in Nigeria. With Richard Quest gone and May Day approaching without a President in sight, you can only imagine the elation when Banky W and Adesua Etomi blessed us with the news of their engagement. The couple literally raised the spirits of a whole nation and then topped it with an introduction.
Oh and President Buhari made a cameo. Let’s not spill it all here. See our top 10 photos from the past week below:

Tolu and Tunde Demuren attended the Banky and Adesua introduction yesterday with a joyful escort, their bun in the oven – as if things weren’t sweet enough at #BAAD2017. Extra joy all around!

First, it was the internet-breaking engagement announcement on Wednesday.

Quickly followed by an introduction ceremony like never seen before which held yesterday.

Last week was Vogue India’s 10th Anniversary but rather than have the world on its side the publication managed to piss everyone off by revealing an anniversary cover that features Kendall Jenner, an American.
President Muhammadu Buhari made an appearance last week during the Friday prayers at the Aso Rock Mosque.
Sadly, Shekau too did. Despite all that the Military has told us about the defeat of Boko Haram, Shekau still dropped a video where he boasted of his intention to kill even more people.

Barack Obama and Genevieve Cook
It did not all happen on Nigerian soil last week. There were juicy photos from abroad too; where someone is writing a biography of former President Obama and leaking very interesting things like the fact that Obama may have been a serial dater, cocaine sniffer and probably even gay in a past life. Here, Obama is pictured at 22 with Genevieve Cook who claims to have been his 25 year old girlfriend at some point.

Here is Sheila Miyoshi, another one of Obama’s love interests. He proposed to Sheila twice and she turned him down before he married Michelle.
In the spirit of Nigerian madness, someone paid for this full paged and coloured advert in a daily newspaper last week. To say what, you ask? We still aren’t sure we get the point either.
Finally, to muchj critical acclaim, Adekunle Gold dropped the video for his “Work” track off the Gold album last week.
