Bez and Timi Dakolo on Rubbin’ Minds today!

On Rubbin’ Minds today, we will have three segments of interviews. The first segment will be a brief discussion on the Legislative Internship Programme at Africa Leadership Forum (ALF). The Africa Leadership Forum (ALF) was initiated in 1988 by former President Olusegun Obasanjo. It was adopted by leaders of other African countries out of the need to assist in improving the capacity and competence of African leaders to tackle development challenges confronting Africa. Two guests will be in the studio to talk about the forum.

Adeoba Ojekunle is an ALF Staff and a Training Manager at the Africa Leadership Forum. He was a Senior Programmes Officer from 2002 to 2007. Chioma Okwudiafor (Intern) is a budding development and public policy consultant. She is keenly interested in development issues particularly those centered on youth empowerment and promotion of good governance.  With four years cross functional experience working in the legal, bilateral trade and investment, not for profit and communications sector, she is well versed in areas of urgent social policy concern.

In May 2011, her essay on “Rising youth Migration: Impact, Challenges and Prospects” was in the top 200 in the 2011 World Bank International Essay competition on Youth Migration. In December 2010, her essay “No more Promises” (with the central theme, a democracy that delivers) was published in “The African Executive”, (a weekly online magazine published by the Inter Region Economic Network (IREN), based in Nairobi, Kenya). Again in 2010, her essay on “Curbing youth Unemployment in Nigeria” also ranked highly in the World Bank International essay competition on Youth unemployment. A 2007 Law graduate of the University of London, she is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations who is very passionate about the development of a new Nigeria.

On the next segment, we will be having Bez Idakula. Bez is a well known Alternative Soul Artiste. A natural performer with a charismatic and playful stage presence, Bez has already opened for international acts like Asa, Angie Stone and Yolanda Brown in a series of high profile shows and events like the Lagos Jazz series, Smooth FM’s ‘Love Music, Love Life’ luxury concert and Sax Appeal 2. He has also performed alongside Africa’s premiere entertainers like Nneka, Tuface, Mike Aremu, and South African based Judith Sephuma. He will be taking about his career, experience and reactions from his new album “Super sun” released less than two months ago.

The last segment will be a chat with Timi Dakolo. He will be talking about his album too, his life and Journey so far with his Career since winning the first West Africa Idols. Timi Dakolo is a Soul Music Singer; his basic instrument is his voice.
