‘Buhari is a man of intergrity, his name cannot be found in Panama papers’ – El-Rufai

The Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, on Thursday, stated that he was persuaded to contest for the 2015 governorship election by President Muhammadu Buhari.

While noting that President Buhari is an honest man whose name cannot be linked to the international Panama Paper scandal, El-rufai stated that he wouldn’t have contested the election if not for the president.

The governor, who is a foremost and founding member of the All Progressive Congress, stated this during the closing ceremony of the two day Kaduna investment forum that held at the state capital.

El-Rufai stated that: “It was President Muhammadu Buhari that forced me to contest for the governorship race of Kaduna state in revenge for persuading him to run the presidential race.

“If he had not asked me to run for the governorship, I wouldn’t have stood before you today as the governor of Kaduna state.

“It is the Buhari phenomenon that had swept away the PDP. Buhari is a man of integrity, a Nigerian leader whose name has not been found in the Panama documents.”

The governor noted that the election would have been rigged by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had not made use of the controversy card reader.
