It’s official: Buhari’s ADC formally kicks DSS officials outside the Presidential villa

The Aide-de-Camp, ADC, to the President, Lt. Col Abubakar Lawal, has formally informed the Department of State Security that its personnel would no longer provide close body protection for President Buhari.

According to a memo signed to this effect, the DSS officials will be replaced with men of the Nigerian Army and Police personnel “who were trained as Presidential Bodyguards.”

According to Vanguard, the memo written by the President’s ADC, stated that he was acting “sequel to directives.”

Seven areas were listed in the memo, which the military and the police are to take over from the DSS operatives “with immediate effect.”

Some of the areas includes; Admin reception/passage; Service Chiefs gate; residence reception, office reception among others.

The memo said: “Personnel of the DSS in conjunction with other security forces are to man other duty beats/locations within the immediate outer perimeter of the Presidential Villa.”
