CBN Governor appears before Osinbajo’s investigative panel

In its bid to unravel the truth concerning allegations against the suspended Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ambassador Ayo Oke; and the suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, the committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the allegations queried the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, on Friday, The Punch reports.

The committee headed by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo has the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; and the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, as members.

Emefiele’s appearance was in connection with Oke’s probe.

Details of Emefiele’s submission to the committee remain unknown.

The panel which is saddled with the responsibility of finding out how the NIA came in possession of the over $50m found in a house in Ikoyi and allegations of procurement violations by Lawal has 14 days to submit its report.
