A Chinese man, from Wenzhou city, is facing life in prison for killing his 12-year-old daughter, for doing badly in school.
The 46-year-old man, Zhang Li, was angry with his daughter, Sutain, for getting bad grades, saying she was an embarrassment to the family.
In his angry state, he allegedly chopped up her body and then tossed her in a public bathroom.
Li reportedly tried to cover up the crime, but later reported her missing after his wife insisted that they open a missing persons report.
The police spokesperson said that the father acted suspiciously, as he was more angry than upset over his missing daughter.
Three days later, a maintenance worker found a human hand in the public toilet, across the street from the victim’s home, after which he called the police.
The police spokesperson disclosed that Li had confessed to the murder but blamed his daughter for her death. He said, “After questioning, he confessed to the killing and blamed it on his daughter for failing to be a good child and letting the family down.”
