Mountain of Fire Ministries (MFM) is one of the major Pentecostal  churches in Nigeria with several branches within and outside Nigeria. It’s popularity has grown so much over the years, you can hardly mention 10 churches in Nigeria without mentioning MFM. The church, led by Dr. D.K Olukoya is popularly known for its emphatic belief in deliverance as well as the “fall-down-and-die” prayers too. Sometime ago, a story of how a witch who turned into a bird crashed to the floor the moment it tried to fly above MFM camp located along Lagos- Ibadan Expressway once made waves in Nigeria. Now, no one has verified that story. It could as well be a fable.

The church has successfully distinguished itself from many others with its several doctrines that make it extremely hard for the church to be categorised as a Pentecostal church. Doctrines which include no earrings, cover your hairs, and many more.

Hence, our surprise when we saw the poster of the worship concert that is being organised by MFM. A few questions come to mind as one spends more time brooding on this. It seems worship concerts are fast becoming a uniting factor for many churches around Nigeria. We could disagree over many other things but not worship concerts.

Or can we conclude that MFM is just about to break its many doctrinal pillars?

Hmmmmm.. Only God knows.
