Aniekan Uko, the speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has been sacked by the Court of Appeal.

The Abuja division of the Appeal Court ruled on Tuesday that the election of Uko was marred with electoral malpractices and irregularities.

According to the panel of three judges, led by Justice Moshood Oredola Abdulrahman, the Speaker, who represents Ibesikpo Asuntan constituency, was unduly elected.
