The Director General of NYSC, Brig. Gen. Nnamdi Okore-Affia, has issued a statement in which he gives advice to corps members on their dressing. He warned corps members to desist from indecent dressing that could insult the sensibilities of their host communities.

In a statement issued in Abuja by the NYSC management, he specifically called on the female corps members not to dress in a manner that would attract unnecessary attention.

“Do not dress to kill” he said. “Dress to impress.”

He also admonished corps members to desist from any act that could offend the traditions of their host communities.

He said the NYSC management was concerned with the security and welfare of corps members, during and after the orientation course.

He also spoke on the conduct and safety of corps members during camp. “The corps members should pay attention to camp lectures and propose their business plans immediately as well as abide by their oath of service wherever they find themselves,” he said. “Do not go to a place you do not understand, if need be understand the place before you go.”

He also advised corps members to embrace the skills acquisition and martial arts training recently incorporated into the program.
