253 operatives of the Department of State Services, who were deployed in the Presidential Villa, have been sent back to state commands by their superiors.

Punch reports that the officials were asked to go back to their respective commands on Wednesday, July 1, pending when the service would get further directives on their deployment from the Presidency.

Last week, it was reported that the 253 operatives of the DSS were rejected by the Presidential Villa authorities, on the order of the Aide-De-Camp to President Muhammadu Buhari.

The operatives were not allowed into the Villa by the ADC who reportedly said their service was not needed.

After being rejected in Aso Rock, the operatives were reportedly taken to the agency’s training school- Institute for Security Studies, in Bwari- where they were given an induction training for a few days.

Now that the induction has been concluded, the DSS authorities has directed the officers to return to their former posting until further directives.

One of the operatives disclosed to Punch that: “We have been asked to return to our respective state commands and to await further directives or orders from the national headquarters.”
