Here’s almost everything you should know about the 2018 Grammy nominations list

The 2018 Grammy nominations are out and Jay-Z is leading the pack with a total 8 nods.

Thanks to his 4.44 album, three of his nominations are in major categories including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Record of the year.

Contending with Jay-Z for the Album of the Year award are Bruno Mars24K Magic, Kendrick Lamar‘s DAMN., Lorde‘s Melodrama and Childish Gambino‘s Awaken My Love!.

Kendrick Lamar follows Jay-Z closely with 7 nominations while Bruno Mars earned himself 6, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

2017’s biggest track, Despacito did not go unrecognised as it has been nominated in 3 categories including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop/Duo Group categories. The Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee track may also be making Spanish history if it wins in any of the two former categories as the first Spanish song to do so.

Meanwhile, a number of Taylor Swift fans have gotten curious as to why her newly-released album, Reputation didn’t make the cut. The Grammy website states that to be eligible for a Grammy nomination, “albums must be released between Oct. 1, 2016, and Sept. 30, 2017”.

Not forgetting Cardi B, her record smashing track Bodak Yellow earned two nominations in the Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance categories. See full nominations list here.

The 60th Annual Grammy Awards will hold in New York City on 28 January, 2018.

Paul ‘Rudeboy’ Okoye regrets his role in the Psquare drama

Since the beginning of the Psquare feud months ago, Rudeboy has stayed away from traditional media while sticking to occasional social media commentary on the family drama.

Paul Okoye, however, sat to chat with hosts of Beat FM’s Morning Rush, Olisa Adibua and Maria Okan where he spoke on the family feud, the role he played, his regrets and of course, his solo career as Rudeboy.

When asked if there will ever be a Psquare track again, Rudeboy says he doesn’t know but will go on and perform his own stage in forthcoming stage appearances.

On sharing family secrets on social media, Rudeboy says he regrets his actions adding, “I think I was very stupid, in that aspect. Something got into me. I couldn’t stand him… Please forgive me for that and let me move on”

He also added that Psquare used to be three, including older brother, Jude. Now Psquare is two, Rudeboy and Jude as Jude continues to be his manager.

On his need to clarify the Psquare situation to fans, Rudeboy unapologetically replied, “My fans, take heart. As e dey break my heart, na so e dey break una heart.”
