Charly Boy’s daughter, Dewy says it took a while before her parents accepted her sexuality
Charly Boy and his wife, Lady Di didn’t accept their daughter’s sexual orientation at first, unlike what has been widely said.
Dewy Oputa made this known in a chat with Punch days after Charly Boy replied critics to defend his daughter’s choice of sex and relationship.
“I can’t pinpoint the exact age I found out about my sexuality, but I was much younger. When I came out to my parents, it took them a while to adjust but my happiness comes first. I don’t feel bad about the negative comments my sexuality post has generated. I knew Nigerians would always have negative things to say and I was mentally prepared for it. I’m not here to sway anybody’s point of view; I’m here to bring awareness,” Dewy said.
Harrysong confirms Kizz Daniel and Reekado Banks are not “good friends”
Harrysong has confirmed the ongoing feud between Kizz Daniel and Reekado Banks.
According to Punch, Harrying said, through his manager, that he doesn’t know the reason for the feud.
“It wasn’t about what Kizz Daniel said on the song; there is nothing out of place about it. When you do something with people and they don’t make it easy for you, you have to look for a way to sort yourself out. Harrysong originally did the song with Reekado Banks and Kizz Daniel but at a point, Daniel said he didn’t want to star in the video because Reekado would be in it. He said he didn’t want to have anything to do with Reekado. We tried to sort out the issue between both of them so that we could shoot the video but Daniel refused vehemently; he didn’t want any reconciliation. Because of that, we decided to do another version of the song with Iyanya and Dice Ailes. Kizz Daniel was just being arrogant about the whole thing and behaving like he is a demigod.”
Saidi Balogun says fans force celebrities to live fake lives
Nigerian actor and producer, Saidi Balogun, has said that pressure to please fans has indeed pushed many celebrities into living fake lives.
He said, according to Punch, “It is always better to be yourself. I am myself, I don’t believe in the saying that you are addressed the way you are dressed. I believe that people should be judged based on their intellectual prowess and not by their appearance. I can ride okada from Lagos to Ibadan. I believe in doing what makes me happy.
“The pressure people put on celebrities can push some of them to get involved in some deals that they are not supposed to do. They force them to live fake lives.”
