The late Cynthia Osokogu who was killed in a hotel at Amuwo Odofin, Lagos, was finally laid to rest on Friday.

The burial ceremony took place at her father’s residence at Boji Boji Owa, Agbor, in Delta state. It was attended mainly by family members and a few of her friends.

Cynthia, who was a post-graduate student of Nasarawa State University was buried in a brief ceremony officiated by a Catholic priest, Rev. Father Leonard Biachi.

(RELATED: Cynthia, 24, was allegedly lured into Lagos by two suspects who reportedly assaulted, raped and killed her to dispossess her of her money)

Biachi said a short prayer on behalf of the dead and later led sympathizers to the graveside for the burial.

Members of her family were filled with grief as they watched young men lower the casket to the ground.

Reports say Cynthia’s mother was not present at the burial but her elder sister was seen handling all the things necessary.

Her father, Maj. Gen. Frank Osokogu (rtd.), thanked the press for their efforts at putting the case in the spotlight and expressed his confidence that her killers will be brought to book.

Her brother also toed the same line saying he trusts that the relevant agencies of government will prosecute her sister’s killers.

Cynthia’s burial, which was supposed to have taken place weeks ago, was postponed due to the advise of the police who found it necessary to conclude autopsy on her body so has to effectively prosecute her alleged killers.
