No, we’re not planning to sack Jega – FG denies (again)

by Ranti Joseph

The Federal Government on Friday (again) denied the reports making the rounds that the Presidency plans to sack the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Attahiru Jega.

This comes on the heels of an alarm raised by All Progressive Congress (APC) senators indicating that there is a plot to send Jega on terminal leave next week.

But the supervising Minister of Information, Edem Duke, who based his defence on the recent assurance made by President Goodluck Jonathan during the last presidential media chat, said government has no plan to remove the INEC boss before the elections.
