Heavy rains in New Orleans cause flooding to submerge cars

Heavy rains in New Orleans cause flooding that saw entire streets and cars submerged with rainwater.

The New Orleans’ emergency preparedness Twitter account, @nolaready, said the system was ‘nearly stationary’ over a large portion of the Uptown and Central Business District neighborhoods, with up to an inch of rain expected to fall. Several inches of rain in an hour’s time Saturday in New Orleans meant street flooding across the area. A flood advisory was placed over New Orleans until 4 p.m.
