Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) planted near the office of the Borno State Pilgrims Welfare Board in Maiduguri, have been demobilised by security operatives.
Insurgents suspected to be members of the Boko Haram terrorist sect, are believed to be behind the planting of the IEDs.
The revelation was made on Monday, February 1, by the spokesperson of the Borno state Police Command, Victor Isuzu.
Isuzu said the combined efforts of a joint security team led to the discovery of the IEDs and its disarming.
“I can confirm that it was a joint police/military operation that demobilised the IEDs but thank God, no live was lost or injuries recorded.”
