The governorship election in Southern Ijaw Local Government Area of Bayelsa state has been cancelled by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The INEC cancelled the election in Southern Ijaw LGA over the cases of election violence, kidnapping of electoral officials, ballot snatching and intimidation of voters.
Premium Times reports that INEC is expected to announce that the governorship election is inconclusive, as a result of the cancellation of election in Southern Ijaw.
Hence, a supplementary election will be conducted to determine the winner of the Bayelsa governorship poll.
