Some aggrieved youth burnt down the Upper Sharia court, Rijiyar Lemo, following the appearance of an Islamic cleric, Abdul Inyas who was accused of blasphemy.
Thousands of youths had thronged the court to witness the trial of Tijjayya sect leader who was taken into custody last Wednesday after he was rescued from mob at Makwarari quarters.
The enraged youth stormed and demolished his resident located at Gida, Kumbotso local government area of the city.
Also around Mandawari area of the city, a huge crowd of protesters were seen heading towards Emir’s palace chanting death to anyone that denigrates the Prophet of Islam.
Vanguard reported that the development has triggered panic in the city as police seems helpless so far and effort to reach the Kano police Image Maker, ASP Magaji Musa Majia was not successful as calls to his mobile was unanswered.
