Jibrin’s letter to Pres. Buhari shows his level of desperation – Reps

The House of Representatives has dismissed a recent letter by suspended lawmaker, Abdulmumin Jibrin to President Muhammadu Buhari as a show of desperation.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Media, Abdulrazak Namdas said the letter showed Jibrin was a “desperate man”.

He added, “His desperation is unfortunate. All the issues he wrote in the letter to Mr. President are not new.

“He already said he petitioned the EFCC, ICPC and other security agencies. Why is it that he doesn’t want the agencies to do their jobs?

“There are so many prominent Nigerians with petitions before the anti-graft agencies; Jibrin is not the only one.

“Is he saying that each of them should turn to the President that he should investigate their petitions?”

The office of the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, said it was through with the issue and has no comment to make.

“We are done with this matter; so, for us, there is no comment.

“But, if he wrote the Presidency, they are the ones to comment, not the Speaker’s office because he did not copy the Speaker his letter,” the Special Adviser to Dogara on Media and Public Affairs, Turaki Hassan, said.

Jibrin had written to President Muhammadu Buhari demanding a probe into allegations of budget padding he made against Speaker Dogara and three other principal officers of the lower chamber.
