It’s a sad day in the United States as 50 people have been confirmed dead and over 500 injured in a mass shooting during the final night of the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas. This incident has been described as the “deadliest mass shooting” in U.S. history.
The suspect was named by the authorities as Stephen Craig Paddock, a 64-year-old white male, and has also been killed.

In honour of the victims of the Las Vegas shooting, US President Donald Trump has issued a Presidential proclamation to be carried out across all US public institutions in the country and overseas.
Trump had earlier expressed shock and great displeasure at the mass shooting and has now ordered that “as a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless act of violence…the flag of the United States shall be flown at half-staff at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions until sunset, October 6, 2017.”
