Lazio has confirmed the resignation of Marcelo Biesla just two days after he was announced as the club’s coach.

The ex-Chile coach was confirmed as the Biancoceleste Coach on Wednesday and was expected in Rome on Sunday to lead Pre-season training. Ex-striker, Primavera coach and last term’s interim boss, Simone Inzaghi is set to temporarily re-assume the role of head coach amidst the chaos.

According to a statement by the club, “We acknowledge with astonishment the resignation of Marcelo Bielsa, inclusive of his collaborators, in blatant violation of the deal agreed via the contracts signed last week and lawfully deposited with the Lega and the FIGC, according to all the related procedures.”

Reports say Lazio will take legal action against Bielsa.
