Struggling to stick to your New Year’s resolutions? Well if watching your weight was one of those, then a new invention may help you slim down by monitoring your intake, if you can wait a few months.
The HAPIfork was recently invented and will be available soon. It is a fork that tells you how much you are eating using electronic sensors. If the user is eating too fast then the fork begins to vibrate. The fork also lights up with flashing lights on the handle.
The gadget is wireless and is connected to an application on the user’s phone. The inventors of HAPIfork believe that people start to feel full after they have been eating for 20 minutes, so by slowing down the amount that you consume in that amount of time, the users will increase their chances of losing weight by not over-eating. Kickstarter has funded this project and when it goes on sale the product will sell for $99 dollars each. This product is not only good for reducing consumption; the creators also claim that using HAPIfork will reduce issues with acid reflux and digestive problems.
HAPIlabs’ US President ,Andrew Carton, says that eating too fast just isn’t good for you and has negative effects on your body, which is why using HAPIfork will help you solve all of those problems above. The firm says, “Eating too fast, and not chewing long enough leads to poor digestion and poor weight control. Every time you bring food from your plate to your mouth with your fork, this action is called a ‘fork serving’.”
