A 48-year-old man, Olapade Omotoso, must be cursing his luck as his illicit affair with Feyisayo Ologunki has landed him in jail.

Ologunki, 50, a housewife, reportedly died while sleeping with Omotoso at a Guest House in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

Prosecuting police Corporal, Ebenezer Ewuola told the court that the accused allegedly raped the woman to death in the hotel. According to The Nation, she was said to have gasped desperately for air and died before anyone could help her.

Ewuola insisted that Omotoso caused Ologunki’s death and that the woman was staying with her husband until the time of the incident. He committed the offence on June 24 at 8.20pm according to the police Corporal.

The Chief Magistrate, C.O. Adegoke, subsequently ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody till August 8 for further prosecution.

The defense counsel, Bola Aruleba, however prayed the court to give the matter speedy hearing.

It’s a wonder how the dutiful housewife turned up at the guest house in the first place.
