Leader of the Biafra Independence Movement and Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra, Ralph Uwazuruike, says his organization is ready to welcome other pro-Biafra groups into its fold.
The MASSOB leader said the only pre-condition for accepting to work with such groups is for them to agree to adopt a non-violence posture in their agitation.
He said the agitation for Biafra would be more effective, if 20 more pro-Biafra groups should emerge and join the cause.
Speaking through the Biafra Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, Uwazuruike said the BIM is not against factionalism in the current struggle for Biafra’s independence.
“Infact, I am calling for the emergence of more 20 pro-Biafra groups to join in the campaign but I must caution that all the different groups campaigning for a separate existence for Ndigbo, in the name of Biafra, should always stay on their own and manage themselves very well.”
He further stressed that all over the world, including South Africa where similar separatist struggles existed, there was always a dominant group, like MASSOB/BIM.
“This our own group has never been threatened by factionalization, rather, while we are the originators, others are imitators.”
