Wherever the MTN Music+ party berths; fun, music, excitement, pleasant surprises and lots of freebies takes centre stage!
And that’s exactly what happened last Friday when ‘Limpopo’ king, Kcee rolled into Calabar to launch the MTN Music+ Next Rated Campaign at the female hostel square of the University of Calabar.
The students present had the rare opportunity of having their questions answered by the ‘Ogadinma’ crooner. The ace artiste, who was the special #Campustweetguest of the event, also answered questions from the students via Twitter.
Kcee held nothing back and even gave useful advice and career tips to the audience, especially to the musically inclined ones. He also surprised the students with cash prizes and career support gestures.
Amadi Jane Francis aka ‘Janey Krest’ a female upcoming hip-hop reggae act got the surprise of her life when Kcee announced he was going to fund a music video shoot for her following her impressive performance during the event.
The MC/comedian of the day, MC Koboko got a pleasant surprise from Kcee as the ace artiste promised him a chance to perform live at the upcoming AY and the Julius Agwu’s Crack Ya Ribs shows respectively. The comedian will also be named as the official Comedian of Kcee’s record label, 5 Star music group if he proves himself at the comedy shows.
Brenda Badem, a 200 level student tweeting via @MzBuhrendah was one of the winners of the event as she got a double surprise of N20,000 from Kcee and gift items from MTN for her interesting set of questions to Kcee; while Ifeoma Jane of Chemistry Department won for herself N25,000 for answering Kcee’s questions correctly.
Kcee brought the memorable day to a close with a performance of some of his hit songs; including his latest single, ‘Alkayida’
The Music+ Next Rated campaign is targeted at upcoming artiste, providing them a chance to kick-start their career by uploading their songs on the music streaming service- the MTN Music+.
